Alumni Awards

The Baylor College of Medicine Alumni Association Awards Program recognizes alumni and faculty of the College’s School of Medicine, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Health Professions and National School of Tropical Medicine for excellence in achievement and service. Award categories and criteria are established by the Executive Committee, and candidates are selected by the Awards Committee.

Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to alumni whose lifelong pursuits have achieved the zenith of accomplishment and serve as an inspiration to others.

Distinguished Alumnus Awards

The Distinguished Alumnus Award is presented to alumni who make outstanding contributions to biomedical or medical science through clinical service, research, education or administrative leadership.

Young Alumnus Awards

The Young Alumnus Award is presented to alumni who make outstanding contributions to biomedical or medical science through clinical service, research, education or administrative leadership and who, at the time the award will be presented, will not yet have reached their 46th birthday.

The Distinguished Faculty Award is presented to Baylor faculty who make outstanding contributions through clinical service, research, education or administrative leadership.

Humanitarian Awards

The Humanitarian Award is presented to alumni for outstanding service to mankind, including humanitarian, public or government service.

Distinguished Service Awards

The Distinguished Service Award is presented to alumni for outstanding service to Baylor College of Medicine or the Baylor Alumni Association. In this category, up to two awards may be presented annually.
