Baylor College of Medicine has a longstanding tradition of Alumni giving back and paying it forward to support future healthcare and science leaders.
At Baylor, there is a proud tradition of alumni providing scholarships to current students. These scholarships may be established by an individual alumnus or alumna, or by a class. The minimum scholarship amount is $150,000, creating a permanent fund that every year supports a student.
As part of the Reunion, alumni come together to raise scholarship funds to support students. If you are interested in leading as a class agent, contact us at email@example.com.
BRASS (Baylor Research Advocates for Student Scientists) members support the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Baylor by providing scholarships and research funding.
“I give to Baylor because of gratitude for the training I got, pride in the current students and pride in Baylor and what we are doing as an institution. As I was going through my file, I found letters from the college informing me that I was going to get a scholarship. The letter said, ‘As in the past, scholarships are awarded to each recipient without contractual obligation, but with the expectation that the student will contribute to the Scholarship Fund later, when he is well established in his practice.’ That part faded from my memory until I rediscovered this letter. I have some ground to make up, which is why I started supporting the scholarship fund.”
Alumni receive complimentary estate planning services through Thompson & Associates.
Thompson & Associates can help create a blueprint to share with an Estate Planning attorney to execute. This service is confidential and there is no obligation to support Baylor.
Naming opportunities are available for alumni who help sponsor alumni events such as regional alumni receptions and mixers, reunion activities and professional association meeting receptions.
The names of alumni donors appear on the Alumni Honor Wall on the main campus, next to the Michael E. DeBakey Library and Museum.
Each year, over 350 new students will don a white coat for the first time. The White Coat Fund gives white coats and lab coats to medical, graduate and health professions students as they begin their training. We also ask our alumni to write personal notes of encouragement to our white coat recipients.
The Partnership for Baylor College of Medicine is a giving society comprised of a dedicated group of supporters who advocate for Baylor. As part of this group Alumni receive special opportunities to connect and Young Alumni can be part of the society for an annual, cumulative contribution of $500 or more.
Alumni who are part of Alumni Connect have the opportunity to sign up to be a mentor to a student.
BCM Alumni Connect is Baylor’s official secure online alumni community designed to help you reconnect with your classmates, meet other Baylor alumni and faculty, connect with current students and keep track of alumni events near you.
