Vamshi Punugoti, M.S., is an accomplished technology leader and executive director of Research and Data Technology at Baylor College of Medicine. With a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Gulbarga University, India, and a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University, Mr. Punugoti has over 15 years of experience in healthcare technology.
Mr. Punugoti’s extensive career includes key positions at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Continental Airlines, where he managed application development and architecture. His certifications include Program Management Professional, Project Management Professional and Cloud University Certification for Cloud Computing, among others. His expertise lies in advancing learning health systems through the integration of omics data with clinical data, driving iterative learning reviews for continuous improvements.
Throughout his career, he has built and led top-performing, diverse teams who have contributed significantly to provider and patient treatment experiences. He aims to facilitate performance recognition from institutional to individual levels, producing dashboards for clinicians and providing regular updates for ongoing improvement.
With a passion for translational research, Mr. Punugoti has co-authored publications on lessons learned from clinical datathons and the use of big data in cancer research.
