Susan Raine, M.D.’ 01, Res. ‘05, J.D., L.L.M., M.Ed., received her Juris Doctor in 1995 from The University of Texas School of Law and her medical degree in 2001 from Baylor College of Medicine, where she also completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology in 2005. Dr. Raine subsequently joined the Baylor faculty. During her time on the faculty, Dr. Raine obtained a master’s degree in health law and policy in 2010 from the University of Houston Law Center and a Master of Education in 2013 from the University of Houston. She is a professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Department of Education, Innovation, and Technology, and the Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy. Dr. Raine also serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Houston Law Center.
From 2013 to 2016, Dr. Raine served as the vice chair for Global Health in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In this role, she assisted in developing the Global Women’s Health Program in Lilongwe, Malawi. She remains active in global health activities, working with the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists as part of the Global Expert Working Group.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Raine serves as the associate dean of Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development at Baylor.
