Peter J. Hotez, M.D., Ph.D.

Peter J. Hotez, M.D., Ph.D., is dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine and professor in the departments of Pediatrics and Molecular Virology and Microbiology at Baylor College of Medicine. He co-directs the Texas Children’s Hospital Center for Vaccine Development and holds the Texas Children’s Hospital Endowed Chair in Tropical Pediatrics. Dr. Hotez also serves as a university professor at Baylor University and holds fellowships at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University and the Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs and the Hagler Institute for Advanced Study, both at Texas A&M University. 

An internationally recognized physician-scientist, Dr. Hotez leads vaccine development for diseases including hookworm, Chagas, and coronaviruses and advocates for global vaccine access.
