Michael B. Mizwa

Michael B. Mizwa joined Baylor College of Medicine in 2004 to lead efforts in the creation of the Baylor College of Medicine International Pediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), which today is Baylor Global Health and its affiliated network of Children’s Clinical Centers of Excellence and non-government foundations in eight countries globally. In 2015, Mr. Mizwa accepted the additional leadership role of director, Texas Children’s Global Health, resulting in expanded geographical scope, enhanced collaboration and additional resource allocations for global health operations throughout the Network.  Today, he has shared leadership of Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine global health non-profit organizations.  

Mr. Mizwa also serves as chairman of the Board of Directors for the Network Foundations in Argentina, Colombia, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi and Tanzania; as vice chairman of the Board of Directors for the Network Foundations in Romania; and as a board member of the Network Foundation in Uganda. 

Before joining Baylor in 2004, he spent over 17 years leading the AIDS Foundation Houston, which was at the time one of the largest non-profit AIDS service organizations in the United States. There, he served as outreach coordinator, director of education, vice president – community affairs and chief executive officer.
