Turning Fear into Fight

Driving Discoveries That Change the Future of Cancer Care

The Future of Cancer Care
Starts Here

At Baylor College of Medicine, we are transforming cancer care through leading-edge science, personalized treatment and compassionate patient care. Anchored by the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center—one of only three NCI-designated cancer centers in Texas—we bring together more than 275 physicians and scientists to advance prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Baylor leverages strengths in genetics, immunotherapy, precision medicine, big data and AI to develop therapies tailored to each patient. Through partnerships with leading hospitals—including Ben Taub, CommonSpirit – Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, Texas Children’s Hospital and the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center— we are accelerating discovery and delivering tomorrow’s cancer treatments today.

PHILANTHROPY IN ACTION

At Baylor College of Medicine, we believe in Tomorrow’s Medicine Today. With bold leadership and a clear vision for the future, we are poised to better prevent, diagnose and expand life-saving cancer therapies, train the next generation of physician-scientists and transform survivorship for patients across Houston and beyond. The opportunity to accelerate progress is significant, but it requires philanthropic partnership. Additionally, your support helps unlock matching funds from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, amplifying your impact. Your support will help advance the following critical areas:

  • Cancer Immunotherapy and Infrastructure: Expand patient-centered adoptive immunotherapy programs, including the facilities, technologies and clinical capabilities needed to deliver next generation treatments.
  • Physician-Scientist Scholars in Cancer Program: Establish a premier training program to develop the next generation of cancer leaders—equipping physician-scientists to bridge research and patient care.
  • Center for Cancer Health: Create a comprehensive survivorship research and clinical program, with a focus on understanding and addressing immunotherapy-related toxicities to improve long-term outcomes.
  • Cancer Research Across the Spectrum: Advance innovative clinical, translational, basic and population science research to drive progress in prevention, early detection and treatment across all cancer types.

Leading the way with adoptive immunotherapy

×

Adoptive immunotherapy is transforming cancer treatment by training a patient’s own immune system to fight cancer. Baylor’s Center for Cell and Gene Therapy has already treated more than 1,700 patients in immunotherapy cell therapy studies, bringing new hope to those with leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors and rare childhood cancers. Baylor scientists are also pioneering this approach for glioblastoma, the deadliest form of brain cancer. Baylor now seeks to expand access to these life-saving therapies to more patients, including those at CommonSpirit – Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and Ben Taub Hospital.
