About

The Baylor College of Medicine Faculty Advancement Council (“Council”) is a group of select physicians and scientists identified by BCM Leadership as highly engaged, not only with the Baylor mission but also with colleagues, staff, patients, and the communzity. These individuals have been chosen to be champions of the Tomorrow’s Medicine Today $1 billion campaign.

Council Responsibilities

  • Act as champions on behalf of Baylor and articulate key elements of the campaign vision – to create Tomorrow’s Medicine Today
  • Serve as a campaign ambassador to multiple constituents (patients, families, community groups and social contacts) by sharing campaign priorities and progress, updates on innovative work and ways to support Baylor College of Medicine
  • Attend and/or host campaign events while sometimes serving as a BCM speaker
  • Contribute to shaping annual giving appeals and other communication pieces by being highlighted as individuals and/or identifying patient, alumni or trainee stories to be featured
  • Share campaign progress internally to engage employee base as part of the campaign
  • Stay up-to-date on campaign progress through regular campaign communications from the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs Council lead (“Council lead”)
  • Help identify grateful patients/prospective donors and, when appropriate, participate in meetings with potential funders
  • If applicable, help identify, cultivate, and solicit prospective donors and participate in many of the most important solicitations
  • Give to your fullest ability and promote and encourage everyone in your respective department to give as they are able
